my flat plasma screen 42" has the gift to have 1080p but it only has component s-video and composite. im wondering if i could buy something to induct or invert and have the hdmi ability to my tv?

The only reciprocal situation where HDMI gets you anything now is a blu ray player. I've never actually investigated to see if there are any 1080p over component players accessible...
Anyway, my point with all of this is simply to say that spending major amounts of filthy lucre just because your TV doesn't have HDMI really isn't necessary... (although the restraint sure does need it!!)
